Empowering Healthcare through AI-Driven Imaging Excellence

CT University’s Department of Radiology & Imaging Technology, School of Healthcare Sciences, celebrated World Radiography Day 2025 with a high-impact CME & Hands-on Workshop that echoed the global ISRRT theme, “Empowering Healthcare through AI-Driven Imaging Excellence.” Held on November 10, 2025, the event commemorated Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen’s groundbreaking discovery of X-rays and highlighted the indispensable role of radiographers in modern healthcare. The entire celebration was organized in collaboration with the Indian Society of Radiographers & Technologists (ISRT) and SPS Hospital, Ludhiana, bringing together leading radiology experts, academics, healthcare partners, and students for a day enriched with innovation, learning, and professional excellence.

The event featured inspiring expert talks by renowned speakers including Ms. Manjinder Kaur Dhanao (RSO, CMC&H Ludhiana; Sr. Vice President, ISRT Punjab), Dr. Damandeep Singh Chawla (Associate Director, Radiology Department, SPS Hospital, Ludhiana), Ms. Tapasya Bhardwaj (Radiology Technologist, PGIMER Chandigarh), and Mr. Gopi Chand Dobhal (Senior Technologist and General Secretary, ISRT Chandigarh Chapter). Their insightful presentations enlightened participants on the transformative influence of Artificial Intelligence in diagnostic imaging, essential quality assurance practices, radiation protection standards, and the emerging ethical considerations within modern radiology.

A key highlight was the Hands-on Workshop on “Quality Check & Quality Control in Radiography,” conducted by BN Medical Solutions and led by Radiation Safety Officer, Mr. Rishav Sharma. This workshop offered participants valuable practical exposure to equipment calibration, image optimization, radiation safety compliance, and essential QC protocols. The session significantly enhanced the confidence and technical competence of attendees, providing them with industry-relevant training aligned with contemporary radiographic standards.

The celebration was further energized by a series of academic and cultural activities, including poster presentations, a photography exhibition, quiz competitions, and vibrant cultural performances by the Radiology students. These events showcased the creativity, knowledge, and talent of the students, highlighting their enthusiasm for the ever-evolving field of radiology.

The program was organized under the esteemed guidance of S. Charanjit Singh Channi (Chancellor), Dr. Manbir Singh (Pro Chancellor), Mr. Harpreet Singh (Vice Chairman), Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Tandon (Vice Chancellor), Prof. (Dr.) Simranjeet Kaur (Pro Vice Chancellor), and Dr. Sampy Duggal, Principal, School of Allied Health Sciences (Convenor), whose leadership ensured a meaningful and impactful academic celebration.

The event was expertly coordinated by the organizing team comprising Dr. Gaurav Verma, Mr. Qaisar Farooq, Mr. Aadil Rashid Malik, Dr. Shaminder Kaur, Mr. Mudasir Mohi-ud-Din, and faculty coordinators from various health science departments. Their dedicated efforts ensured the smooth execution of all sessions and activities throughout the day.

The day concluded with a warm Valedictory Session, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all invited speakers, collaborating institutions—including ISRT and SPS Hospital—industry partners, organizers, and student volunteers. The 2025 World Radiography Day celebration at CT University reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to advancing radiological education, promoting innovation in medical imaging, and strengthening meaningful collaborations with healthcare and professional bodies. The event proved to be an inspiring platform for students and professionals, motivating them to excel and contribute to the future of diagnostic imaging.
